Order a repeat prescription
If you take Medicine regularly, you will usually have a repeat prescription.
This means that you can order your medicine when you need it without having to see a GP.
Did you know
You can order your repeat prescription up to 10 working days before you are due to run out of medicine.
This means there is plenty of time for:
- Placing your order via the NHS App, via an online form or in person at the surgery
- The GP to complete their checks and sign off the prescription
- For the prescription to go to your chosen pharmacy
Your repeat prescription should then be ready within 3 working days after we receive the request.
Please manage your medication due dates so that you are not left without medicine.
Your repeat prescription slip from the local pharmacy will show you your medication review date. Please make sure you request an appointment in plenty of time, to avoid having repeat prescriptions rejected.
Order using the NHS app or website
The NHS app is a quick way to access NHS services. Using the NHS app means you do not need to enter your personal details each time you contact the surgery. You can read more about the app on the NHS website.
You can use your NHS account to order a repeat prescription.
You will need the NHS app or your NHS account login details.
Order repeat prescription using an online form
You can order a repeat prescription using an online form.
We recommend only using this form if you do not have access to other online services like the NHS app.
You will need to provide the name of the medication and dosage.
Order in person
You can order a repeat prescription in person at the surgery.
If you have a repeat prescription slip, you can drop it off at the prescription drop-in box.
Nominating a pharmacy
When you order a prescription online, you can have your prescription sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice to collect your medication. This is called a nomination.
